was looking for poke in Dana point and stumbled across this place! it wasn't busy when we came in, but the person taking our order was very helpful! He gave us several recommendations which was nice. I will say, I wasn't even expecting much out of their poke bowls, but it was honestly one of the best poke I've had in socal. it is a bit on the pricey side, but the portions are huge!!!! Would go here again.

Great portions, great fish, sauce options were good! Loved it all and I take my fish seriously. Highly recommend! Also note, if you're looking to share a meal with a friend or your gf, you could easily share a bowl and I don't say that lightly.

This place is generous with portions. I was slightly disappointed, I wish they told me before hand that they mix the spicy tuna in the bowl. I prefer it on the side, but it all happened so fast by the time I looked up from saying my toppings it was too late. I was too shy to tell them anything after they already did it. However the flavor was nice. The sides should just be seaweed and crab, edamame should be a topping to be honest. The staff is friendly and the interior is clean.

Mid quality poke with hefty portions. This is just personal opinion but I think crab salad, seaweed salad, edamame that they put as sides should just be toppings. I got spicy tuna and salmon but one thing that threw me off was the spicy tuna wasn't put on the side as a scoop like most places but rather mixed in a bowl. I think they should ask the customers if they would want their bowls mixed because not everyone likes it mixed. Not a big deal tho. I wish they had sushi rice an option. This place wasn't bad and it still fixed our poke cravings since we were craving poke on the beach. They do hook you up fat with toppings and the small does fill you up. Gf got the small I got the large but I honestly would just go for the small. It's not that much of a difference.

Came here a couple weeks ago. I'd say of all the poke places I have tried, this one is up towards the top. The portion is very filling even for a two fish combo. The sauces are delicious and it all comes together pretty darn good. Easy chill atmosphere, nothing special there. Service is good, nothing to absolutely rave about but it is exactly as expected. Overall definitely recommend!

This place is always consistent and gives very generous plates, me and my wife come here often !

Tried it here for my first time yesterday and loved it! Fresh fish, ample mix ins and friendly service. It was made exactly my way and so tasty! I'll be back.

This was a lifesaver, saving me from unhealthful fast food on a drive south from LA on a Sunday night. Poke is usually to my liking because I can control what goes into my bowl. All that was offered was the usual yummy fare (including eel sauce!), but the lettuce mix tasted a bit off. The young woman at the counter was cheerful and helpful.

10/9/23 Just driving around PCH, cruising and we stumbled upon this poke shop. We were casually looking for a place to grab some grub, poke sounds better than my initial idea (burgers). Went in & was instantly greeted by staff. It's the usual process, select size, your vase, your sides, veggies/add-ons, protein, sauces and toppings. Opted for a large, feeling hungry (I figured if I don't finish it, Hubby will). Half brown rice, half salad, 3 sides: mac, seaweed & crab salad. Protein (5), salmon, tuna, yellowtail, spicy tuna, scallop. Sauces: spicy mayo, sesame oil & shoyu. Toppings: furikake & sesame seeds. It was pretty hefty in weight but it didn't seem to be that much in portion size. I think it could've used more salad-probably because the greens were drenched with the sauce. Overall, the taste was pretty good. Service was fairly attentive. The place is tucked in a small strip mall. Somehow it did not give me the wow factor that would make me go out of my way to return but it fit the bill at this time. Price-wise, at par with some of the poke places I've visited. There's ample parking in the lot. Good poke bowl

Kamea Poke in Dana Point is a great spot for a refreshing build-your-own poke bowl. Indoor seating is available. They have lots of options, so you can try out or omit whatever you like. Regular bowl comes with three scoops of fish and two sides. Between the salmon and tuna, I preferred the tuna, which is rare for me since I usually love salmon. The fish tasted good and were thankfully neither lukewarm nor room temp. They also offer a variety of interesting sauces with unique flavors, such as the cilantro ceviche and the miso-chang. I liked the tart and herby cilantro ceviche better. The mild shoyu was great. It packed an umami punch without being too salty, and I appreciated that it was not sweet. It looked slightly goopy at first but mixed well with the fish. Service wasn't slow, but there was only one person taking and making orders. With two people ahead of us, we waited about a little over five minutes to be greeted and served. Located off of the PCH, there are nice ocean views and relaxed beachy vibes here. Glad to know that I now have two poke spots whenever I'm in the area: Kawamata Seafood and Kamea Poke!
